Catherine Thorpe of VIVE LA FRANCE SCHOOL & TRAVEL has been serving the Salt lake City area for more than a dozen years, and has taught French to hundreds of people young and old.  She offers all levels of French classes and tutoring, focusing on everyday French conversation. The classes are small and cozy and give abundant opportunities to interact with the instructor and other students. Catherine feels that learning French should be fun and she uses her colorful French humor to encourage the French learning experience. Catherine is a native Parisian with a master's degree in English from the Sorbonne University in Paris. She has been in the center of French activities in the Salt Lake area for more than 30 years.

Deborah Tait is the instructor for the school in the UTAH VALLEY area. Deborah is Catherine's daughter, and has acquired some of her mother's native French mannerisms and accent.  As a high school student she was a Sterling Scholar in French. Deborah spent several years with her French family in Paris, and lived for several more years on her own in Southern France. She speaks French like a native and has a Masters Degree in French Teaching from the University of Utah. She taught French at the University of Utah for eight years. She also has tutored privately for six years.
